Week of March 30...

And away we go! Welcome to the new and improved Bruin Blog, today's edition brimming with news of conference foes and bitter rivals making their way onto campus.

After wearing out the indoor facilities for weeks, the softball team finally takes the field, hitting the ground running as they play two C-Conference games, at Mt. Carmel and at Baltimore Lutheran, sandwiched around a "B-squad" contest at home against Catholic's JV. Take a breath... Conference play then comes to Sugar Field in Friday's finale matching the Bruins against 1-0 Roland Park Country School.

Itching for the O's to get started? Searching for an opportunity to take in a baseball game? Look no further as our boys play three at home, facing Glenelg on Tuesday, Mt. Carmel on Thursday and the Boys Latin Lakers on Friday. Establishing themselves as an early contender by knocking off St. Mary's in a squeaker upon their return from break, the Bruins could make an impact this week as the conference standings begin to take shape.

Boys' lacrosse hits the road Tuesday to begin conference play at defending champ Archbishop Curley. The Bruins' warm-ups are over as they start the season with an enormous opportunity to make an early splash by stopping the Friars and their streak of thirty-three straight (yes, 33) B-Conference victories. If you were looking for a way to support the team, or simply an excuse to scream at the top of your lungs, this might be the game to attend. If you'd rather stay close to home, cheer for the boys upon their return as they take on Chapelgate on Boys' Varsity Field on Thursday.

The girls' laxers may still be kicking the mud out of their cleats after last week's demolition of AACS in the rain, but all eyes will again focus on Girls' Varsity Field Tuesday in what might be the GAME OF THE WEEK as the 3-0 Quakers from Friends School bring their game to campus. Bleacher seats go quickly so get there early! And the schedule doesn't end there. The girls then play Glenelg at home on Thursday and travel to Mercy High Friday to face the A-Conference "Magic." (I didn't know they were called that either).

Hit the links with the Park golfers as they challenge Beth Tfiloh and Baltimore Lutheran Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, while the varsity tennis team takes the week off from competition after their east coast travels over break.
